Coralie Allen

HEAD HAIR STYLIST / SALON OWNER

I am the Owner and Director of Motorhead Hair D’Zyne.

I bought this salon back in 2001. I have been hairdressing since I was 15 and till this day absolutely love it! I work here from Tuesday-Saturday. I am originally from NZ, I started my hairdressing journey over there while I was still at school. I did hairdressing as work experience in the Bay Of Islands, in Russell.

I always had really thick, dry, frizzy, coarse hair and always wished I had hair like what you see in the magazines. I used to wet my hair in the school toilets so it wouldn’t look dry, then within 10 minutes the frizz would come back again. I just always wished I knew how to have nice flat hair.

I was determined to get into hairdressing to learn all the secrets on having gorgeous hair. When I came to Australia to join my family who were already here my mum told me to get a job because I didn’t really attend school and just wasted her money enrolling me etc. She believed in me more than I believed in myself that I could get into hairdressing, So I applied and got a job.

I loved learning everything there was to learn about the trade. I couldn’t wait to share my secrets with all my clients who had very thick or dry damaged hair. I felt very passionate about it because I knew how they felt about their hair and knew I could help them have hair that they can and would love by teaching them what I knew on how to get this amazing soft shiny silky thinner hair.

This is why I say I’m the ‘Thick Hair Specialist‘. I can do all types of hair but I love helping people with thick hair. I love the look on their face when I’m finished, It says it all and makes me feel blessed to be able to help them.

A lot of hairdressers look at thick hair and think to themselves “What on earth can I do with all this hair” but me, I love it. It takes a lot longer to do and I don’t worry about time, I love taking my time to do the hair perfectly. I never care about what time ill be finishing as long as the hair is done perfectly and my clients are happy. Then I feel my job has been done. This is one of the reasons I open till all hours Tuesday-Friday by appointment so no rushing and a 100% proper job is done. I feel very blessed to be able to wake up everyday and love what I do.
